Mosaic flooring (quadrangular tesserae) with Satyr and Nymph

The floor, embellished with multi-coloured tesserae, presents a design consisting of several frames, separated by plaits and decorated with figurative motifs. In the middle is a young Satyr who, with a leap forward, surprises a half-naked Nymph by grabbing her breast. All around are frames decorated with accessory motifs, always linked to the world of nature, such as birds, a tiger, a leopard and various fruits. In the axial position beneath the central frame is a lion mauling a prey.
